There was only one venue in all of Arizona that would have been perfect for Erin. One venue that had the perfect fireplace, the kitchen with the scents of home, the dining room with memories of family meals. Erin had to get married at her childhood home, it was the only place that felt right. And it was oh so right. Everything from the white walls and wooden beams in the master bedroom where she slipped into her dress, to the piano in the living room bathed in afternoon light. From the sweet moments holding hands with Grandma in anticipation of the day, to the gorgeous flowers and decor covering every inch of the property. So much hard work went into this day, and with planning and coordination by Tres Chic Events and florals by Butterfly Petals that brought the navy blue, peach, and rose gold color scheme to life, well, it was just perfect.
But all of the attention to details and the expertly constructed decor and floral arrangements could not outshine the joy and love in the hearts of Erin and Vasanth. Vasanth is an ER doctor at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. I’m pretty sure every time we were together we were re-telling war stories of our kids and their injuries, haha. Erin is a nurse at Phoenix Childrens, and they met at work. It took months before Erin would even allow Vasanth to come up to her floor and visit her! But he was patient, and loved her, and did not stop pursuing her. And here they are, married and so happy.
We loved the ways that Erin and Vasanth brought their cultures together. Vasanth’s family is from India, and bringing his culture into their wedding was so important. During the ceremony, they exchanged Varmala, a pair of floral garlands that they placed around each other’s necks. It symbolizes happiness, enthusiasm, aspiration, zeal, and beauty, all held together by a thread to secure them. As they placed them on one another, Erin & Vasanth repeated, “Just as this thread never leaves the company of these flowers, I too will always be with you.”
We could not love this wedding and this couple more. Their heart was for tradition, family, and legacy, which alines with our hearts so well. Backyard weddings have quickly become our favorites to shoot, and this one in the heart of Phoenix was no exception. Giant tress, estate homes rich with history, the warmth of family. Theres’ nothing better.
There were these strings of roses hanging EVERYWHERE!! They were absolutely stunning!!
First looks are quickly becoming our favorite part the wedding day. So much fun emotion!!
These two were so happy to see each other, they busted out some epic dance moves!
Love this sweet moment shared by Erin, her mom, and her grandma on the living room couch just before she walked down the aisle to become a wife.
Erin’s favorite room in the house is the dining room, and we couldn’t agree more. We just had to get a portrait of the two of them with those navy walls. Swoon!
Erin also really wanted some shots of the two of them in the living room. It wasn’t hard to agree with that either!
Dinner was so much fun. They set up four different stations that served guests a variety of delicious food on demand!
And another donut cake? Yes, please!
Erin & Vasanth, we can’t thank you enough for your incredible hospitality and your heart. Congratulations on your marriage, we can’t wait to see it blossom!!
A HUGE thank you and much love to the incredible vendor team that brought the whole vision to life!!
