Kat & Spencer’s Lush & Romantic Wild Horse Pass Wedding Photos
I’m at my parents house this week for spring break. Consequently, I’ve been looking through old (really old) photographs that my mom is preserving in an album. She’s telling stories of weddings and births, careers and deaths. And there are perfectly preserved photos from the 1800’s, which blows my mind. I am so grateful to have these stories to preserve the history of my family. And it gives me a renewed appreciation for what we do. Because someday, 100 years from now, a great-great granddaughter will be looking through albums, grateful for the preservation of stories.
My favorite part of our job is meeting people we wouldn’t normally meet, and learning – and then telling – their stories. Every story is different and every love story is worth preserving. For example, Kat and Spencer met at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row on Mill Ave in Tempe. Kat lived on Mill and was responsible for showing new ASU sorority girls a good time. Spencer worked at an accounting office and was out at Whisky Row for the first time to celebrate the end of tax season! Then, they met on the dance floor and felt an immediate connection. And their relationship quickly grew and led them to their Sheraton Grand Wild Horse Pass wedding! (PS- Check out their gorgeous desert engagement session here!)
The Wedding Day
When we met with Kat initially, months before the wedding, we asked her what she envisioned. The first priority on her dream Wild Horse Pass wedding list was flowers. Lots and lots of lush and beautiful flowers. She wanted to go big, and nothing was going to stop her. And, boy are we glad she did! So, our friend, Annie, with Garden Gate Flowers combined with the awesome rentals from our friends at Tremaine Ranch and together they build what wedding dreams are made of.
Kat wore a beautiful ball gown with a sweetheart neckline and off-the-shoulder cap sleeves. Furthermore, the dress had stunning lace detailing and a jeweled belt. It was perfect on her. She wore her hair down in curls and a long, ethereal cathedral veil. Friends, we are fans of long veils. They just look so bridal in all the best ways!
Some of my favorite moments from the day included Kat’s first look with her dad (always a fave) and the grandmothers making an appearance as the flower girls! I love it when special family members are honored in unique ways. Then, Kat & Spencer danced the night away at their outdoor reception with an insanely fun group of friends and family. The food was amazing, the music was hopping, and the people were the best part.
We are insanely grateful to have been a part of Kat and Spencer’s wedding day! What a gift it is to tell stories like theirs! We hope you love their images as much as we do. Come back tomorrow for their mini documentary film, and hear their story from their own mouths!
